Stories from Cabo Corrientes
Siwa and Cinergia, 2020

On the Colombian Pacific coast, in Chocó, around Cabo Corrientes, lives a community of Afro-descendants who preserve a rich oral history. The Gulf of Tribugá is a sanctuary for whales from all over the American Pacific, and both the ocean and the forests constitute a reserve of incalculable ecological value. But today, this marvelous refuge, barely respite from the open war between drug traffickers, paramilitaries, guerrillas, and the army, is threatened by the construction of a large port that will radically transform the region and pollute the waters, forever alienating the whales and turning its inhabitants into a minority in their own land.
