Nothing could have predicted that José Antonio, a Spanish engineer from a stable, middle-class family, would end up homeless, a victim of bazuco, living on the alley of death in Bogotá's famous Cartucho. From his delirium, full of poetry and clarity, José Antonio is filmed during the time when dozens of families are evicted from Cartucho, which is being demolished to make way for the Third Millennium Park. A reclamation of a space that runs parallel to José's "resurrection," who decides to enroll in a rehabilitation program. Having overcome his bazuco addiction, his life takes a radical turn, or perhaps not so much... A relationship, a job that promised wonders in a thriving Spain that soon gave way to crisis and debt... Is the world created by drugs more fictional or the one created by the capitalist dream? Which monsters are more cruel to fight? Which world is easier to escape? A documentary that shocks with its human quality. A visceral film, a portrait captured over more than ten years that shows the courageous way in which Germán Piffano sheds all prejudice to accompany and embrace the human being who lives, dreams, and screams loudly beneath his ragged and smelly exterior. A lesson in humility and humanity.
